Skier Daryl Treadway Location: K3 Catskiing, BC Photo: ralphie

Sometimes being in the mountains in Revelstoke you gotta stop and look around at the view..

Just not when your ripping a fresh line..

Daryl cooking down a slope at K3 head down and knows the view will be there when he is done.

When Catskiing Canada visited Selkirk Wilderness this winter one thing that really stood out was the hospitality and the fun at the Lodge.

It felt like I was going to thanksgiving family dinner and each night was filled with some serious game playing..

If you don’t know what the game of “Crud” then you need to go visit to see first hand.

We loved that we could ski our last run right up to the lodge and within seconds have a warm appy and a fresh cold pint.

We call this lodge a  “home Run”

Huck N Bombs

Our Catskiing Canada team had an insane visit at Valhalla Powder Snowcats located near Nelson BC.  Adam had arrived just injured himself before the trip..

You would never know that he isn’t a 100% when you see him take on some of the terrain at Valhalla.

Did he stomp it or did he bomb it? Will have to wait to see in the upcoming Untracked Guides article!

One of the aspects of Catskiing that sometimes gets less attention is the importance of great guides… The Selkrik Guides led by Jason were amazing to work with from a media perspective- and judging from the sore cheeks of the smiling guests we went with.. they felt the same way.

Early Season at Monashee looks like mid season this year! Photo: Colleen Gentemann

This year’s Catskiing Canada tour started at Monashee Powder Snowcats.. and yep.. La Nina is here.. already into lines that you don’t get into mid season sometimes…

Getting a little air is one of the joy’s of Catskiing in the powder… the feather bed landing makes ya hold it a little longer or pop it a bit harder. Either way… it just feels good.

Christian makes this look easy.. if you take a closer look.. he is on a no board.. I think he was threading the needle in his case.

Waking up at the lodge before a day of Catskiing.

We all have an image in our minds of what a mountain side lodge looks and feels like in the backcountry.

Every Catskiing operator has their own unique lodging experience.

This is Fernie Wilderness Adventures Lodge…

Have a frosty brew

At the end of a long day of skiing powder not much beats a cold beer on your last run.  Island Lake Lodge loves their traditions and providing a frosty crate of local micro brewer Fernie Brewing Company  is one of them.

Cheers to that.
